The word hustle has exploded over the last few years. You hear everyone talk about their side hustle or how hard they are hustling. To be honest, I have mixed feelings about this word.
The word hustle tends to be glorified. And that is not necessarily a good thing.
You are told in order to succeed you just need to push through. To hustle like Beyonce, you have the same number of hours in the day. Or working through lunch and pulling all-nighters is admirable.
We all know someone who glorifies the hustle.
I don’t know about you, but hearing these things sometimes make me feel like less of a boss.
Now I totally get it, a business isn’t just going to magically launch by itself and a blog isn’t going to become an overnight success. You need to do the work. There is no questioning that.A business isn't going to launch by itself, but there is such a thing as a good hustle. Click To Tweet
What I am questioning is the idea of the hustle. I believe there is such a thing as a good hustle and a bad hustle.
The Bad Hustle
I want to avoid the bad hustle. The one where you work so hard you forget to take care of yourself, where you finish the work no matter the cost, and where you let your relationships go.
Working yourself so hard that you make yourself sick is not admirable. It is far from it. I personally think it is absolutely stupid.
When you succumb to the bad hustle, you are doing more harm than good. Think about it. If your business relies on you for it to run, and you become so sick that you can’t work, both your well-being and your business suffer. That price is not worth it to me.When you succumb to the bad hustle, you are doing more harm than good. Click To Tweet
The Good Hustle
The good hustle is what I strive for. It is getting your shit done but taking care of yourself in the process. It is allowing yourself to take a day off or cut your workday short if your body is telling you it needs rest.
It is making exercise and eating well a priority. Because when you are healthy and energetic you will get your work done. And will most likely be more productive!
It is allowing yourself to unplug and spend time with friends and family, to get some space from your work. And most importantly, it is about not feeling guilty about all of this!

Taking care of your well-being is one of the most important things you can do for your blog and business.
I want you to rethink the hustle. I say hustle, but hustle within your limits.
