As I am writing this I still can’t believe that we are almost through with January and how late I am to the year in review post and setting my goals for this upcoming year.
Last year, I wrote a post called 17 Things I’m Doing for My Business in 2017 so I want to take a look at what was accomplished, what wasn’t and what changed. Plus I want to share a snapshot of how my traffic changed from 2016 to 2017!
I’m excited, so let’s get started!
Things I Wanted to Do or Accomplish in 2017
I had created a pretty hefty list for last year and I could have never imagined that roller coaster of a year that was in store for me. So I know not everything I wanted to do have been done but I am very pleased with all I have accomplished this past year.
Enroll in Be True, Brand You by Kimra Luna – Success
Okay so by the time I wrote the initial post I was already enrolled in the program. But I am happy to say that I pretty much completed all of it. There are pieces that I am not ready for in my business yet but I know I can go and reference them when I am ready. And that is a great feeling.
It was a great experience and the support group was absolutely AMAZING!
Revamp My Services and Work with Me Page – Success
This admittedly took WAY longer than expected because I took a few detours. I changed my offerings several times during the year and am FINALLY happy with what I am offering.
If you are interested in ebook design, webinar design or course design, I would love to hear from you! I am still finishing up the sales page for my tech VA services and once that is complete, my work with me page will be a one stop overview!
Make My Business Legal – Fail
So this is something I still need to do. It is on my list to get done ASAP.
Schedule a Brand Photo Shoot – Success
My photographer friend took some beautiful photos of me and I am so grateful. You can check them out on my about page. But with the rebrand, I decided to go with an updated look. So when I was at my mastermind in San Francisco we were luckily enough for a photographer to snap from brand photos! Funny enough though, the one I am using ended up being from my friend who was playing around with her iPhone. It was a casual thing so I didn’t feel as nervous (and I feel it shows!)
Create At Least One Course – Success
I am counting my free course Week of Code here. I have plans of updating it but I am still very proud of it. I also recorded a masterclass on how to use Photoshop to create your own social media templates (which I plan on launching soon). And my branding course, Brand Me Lovely is in the works!
Focus More on Affiliate Marketing (Where It Makes Sense) – Success
I didn’t do much blogging toward the end of the year, but when I was consistently blogging I did a much better job of this. It is super easy when you are blogging about products you use consistently and absolutely love! I feel like I did a good job of it not being overwhelming.
Spending Time Everyday Networking with Fellow Bloggers and Creative Entrepreneurs – Fail
While I talk to a few business besties every single day, I got comfortable and stopped getting out of my comfort zone. I just stopped interacting as a whole. I noticed though that when I was focusing on this my business really saw an uptake.
Start My Own Facebook Group – Success
I started The Lovely Entrepreneur Society in March and as of me writing this post we sit at 1,434 amazing female entrepreneurs! When I am online, this is the Facebook group I spend the most time in!
Create Digital Products – Success
I didn’t create as much as I originally wanted BUT I did create some premade graphics including a set of social media templates, Instagram quote graphics all about coffee, and Instagram quote graphics all about being a dreamer.
I also created an ebook called Crush It with Facebook Groups that is a bundle geared toward bloggers and creative entrepreneurs to make the most out of Facebook groups as a member and a workbook called Conquer Your Content: The Epic Blog Content Planner. Both are only $17 each.
Create Physical Products – Fail
This just didn’t make it to my priority list last year, though I had started to look into suppliers for the products I want to create.
Make Email Marketing A Priority – Semi-Success
I had my moments when I started to use email marketing, but it wasn’t consistent which is why I can’t call this a success.
Create Multiple Opt-Ins To Grow My Email List – Success
I had so much fun with this one. From my free email course Week of Code to my big list of Facebook groups to the multiple workbooks in the #ContentCreateHustler series and to my WordPress Success guide I put together some great opt-ins.
Experiment with Facebook Ads – Semi-Success
So I didn’t really do any ads for my own blog, but I did experiment with Facebook ads for several clients. I love learning this new skill.
Create A Consistent Blogging Schedule – Semi-Success
At times I did pretty well, but overall I didn’t have a solid blogging schedule. I noticed increase traffic when I consistently blogged because I had more content to promote.
Be Proactive with Bookkeeping and Tax Preparation – Fail
Unless getting everything together mid -December counts, then this was a fail. I had planned to do this monthly to save me time come tax time.
Take More Time Off For Me – Success
This one is by far a success. I took more time off then I probably needed at times, but I made sure to take things slow or time off when I needed it – whether I was sick, a family member was sick, or something else happened that needed my attention.
I will say that I have been healthier this past year than I was in 2016, so I would say it was definitely worth it!
Relaunch and Rebrand My Lifestyle Blog – Semi-Success
Peace Love Sequins has officially been rebranded as Lately Lindsey! I am calling this one a complete success because I haven’t blogged there since June. It is still something I want to start again, but Blog Me Lovely comes first.
