This year I plan on making BIG things happen for my business, especially since this is the first year that I will be working in my business full time ALL YEAR LONG! If you don’t already know this, I quit my job in February 2017. And I cannot believe it has almost been a year!
So today I am mapping out my goals and sharing with you 18 things I am doing for my business in 2018.
1. Launch Brand Me Lovely
Brand Me Lovely is my DIY Branding course. It has been a labor of love and it has been pushed back time and time again (like seriously like the past 6 months now). My goal is to lauch this in Q1 and I could not be more excited. It is going to cover everything from your one-liner and finding the reason for your brand to some design and tech tutorials. It is seriously going to be EPIC!
2. Get on a Schedule
One of the reasons that I didn’t accomplish all of my goals last year was because I wasn’t on a schedule. Now I had a bunch of personal and family things come up that really threw me through a loop but besides those times, I just didn’t have any consistency.
So now I have been using Asana (after struggling between a couple project management systems). I am hoping to get my workflow down and then create a course. I have taken so many courses on Asana, on Trello, on project management in general, and have experience on several platforms that I am really figuring out what works for me! And I cannot wait to share it!
3. Make My Business Legal
This was on the list last year and I seriously need to get this done. When I transition to more digital products and courses I plan to make it an LLC but until then I need to get a few ducks in a row.
4. Reach 5,000 Pageviews A Month
Since I want to make the transition from services to digital products, traffic is a big one for me. I don’t want to be too unrealistic here. I would be so thrilled if I reach 5,000 pageviews a month consistently. It is a benchmark I have yet to hit.
5. Spend Time Everyday Networking with Fellow Entrepreneurs
This was on the list last year and I kind of did it at times but not consistently (seems to be a trend). I definitely saw the biggest shift in my business when I spent more time on building and nurturing my community on Facebook (in my own Facebook group and others).
6. Grow My Facebook Group to 5,000 Members
I launched The Lovely Entrepreneur Society in March 2017. And since then I have over 1,400 members. This is my home base on Facebook and there is an amazing group of women in there.
I want to be more strategic and start going live more to teach. I want to share more education and really helping other entrepreneurs grow! I feel when we all bring each other up we will all succeed.
7. Expand My Digital Product Shop
I currently have a few products from ebooks to premade graphics but I want to expand that. I had icons, clip art, and more on the list last year that I just didn’t get around to doing. I also want to make more social media template packs and some premade brands. These will all be offered on Creative Market as well as on my site.
In addition, I want to make more ebooks, checklists, guides and courses to help on the education side. I have so many course ideas that I cannot wait to start creating (and it is so much more than just Brand Me Lovely and a course on Asana).
8. Create A Physical Product Shop
This was also on the list last year but honestly it wasn’t a priority. I have started to come up with some phrases to make on mugs and stuff and am so excited to start creating! The wheels in my head are turning!
9. Reach 5,000 Email Subscribers
Email marketing is going to be a big priority this year. It is one of the best places to nurture my audience and I have been paying for ConvertKit and haven’t really been taking advantage of it! So focusing on list building is going to be HUGE this year.
10. Host A Virtual Summit
So this is kind of already in the planning stage. My business bestie Jenny (of Confetti Social) and I are going to host a virtual summit sometime this year. We are so excited and can’t wait to start finding guests to participate in it (so if this sounds like something that would interest you, stay tuned!)
11. Join A Mastermind
Last year I was in an amazing mastermind with Anna Frandsen. And I would honestly love to do another one with her or someone similar. Joining a mastermind did so much for my business. It was a great time but it also helped me focus and stay accountable. Plus I met some pretty amazing women!
12. Be Interviewed on 12 Podcasts
That is pretty much one podcast a month. I have so much fun when I am on a podcast and I would love to be introduced to more audiences as well!
13. Make $5,000 Months
This is my goal this year. It would mean that I have completely replaced my old job’s salary and also have money for health insurance and to account for taxes and still be doing really well.
Right now I am getting by, but having your own business can be very difficult. I am not where I need or want to be but I am making it work. And the thing is I am so much happier and way less stressed then when I was at my past job. So money isn’t everything but I would like to be comfortable and maybe take a Disney World trip! ;)
14. Go Live At Least Once A Week in My Facebook Group
One thing that I really want to go is go live more often in my Facebook group. Now this kind of goes with growing my group because I know more video training will lead to my group growing BUT I really need to push myself on this one. Sometimes I just feel like I don’t know what to talk about or my face is breaking out and I just chicken out. I need to make this a non-negotiable.
15. Start A YouTube Channel
Right now I am not sure if I want to use YouTube to supplement my blog or have it as its own entity really. I feel like I will start using it to really supplement my content (maybe just the blog post in video form) but then who knows! It will be a great way to expand my audience.
16. Attend A Conference
In 2017 I ha the pleasure of attending an in-person retreat with my mastermind and to attend Amy Porterfield’s Entrepreneur Experience. And can I just tell you how amazing that was. They were both so inspiring and motivating and it is something else when you get to meet people in person and make real connections.
17. Meet My Business Besties In Person
So I have several business besties that I would love to meet in person. From Tennessee to San Antonio to just Northern California I would love to meet them in person.
18. Focus on SEO
Social media is my primary source of traffic and I definitely want to work on improving it even further BUT I also want to really focus on SEO. I know SEO is a long game but if I can start making my way to the first page with killer keywords then I will start to diversify my traffic and really set my business up for success.
